A New Extremely Early-maturing Red-flesh Nectarine Cultivar‘Chuhong 1’

Abstract: ‘Chuhong 1’is a new extremely early-ripening red-flesh nectarine cultivar which is derived the cross of‘Zaoyoutao’(female parent)and‘Zaoxianhong’(male parent). The fruit shape is roundwith red flesh,and the average fruit weight is 71 g at the maximum single fruit weight is 105 g. The flesh is crisp and sweet,with 8%–10% soluble solids content and 0.27% titratable acid content. The stone is cling. The ripening date of‘Chuhong 1’is Middle-late May in Wuhan area,the fruit development period is 60 to 73 days. This cultivar appeared high and steady yield,the average yield is 18 000 kg · hm-2.
