Abstract:

‘Meiyu’is a new mid-early ripening pear cultivar derived from the cross of‘Gold Nijisseik’and‘Jinhua 4’. The trees have moderate growth vigor,upright posture,strong budding force and branching ability. The fruit is oblate and round,with an average single fruit weight of 252 g. The peel is yellow green,thin. The fruit stalk is short. The flesh is milky white,crisp,juicy,sweet. The soluble solids content is 12.5%-14.3%,and the titratable acid content is 0.2%. The fruit hardness is 5.7 kg · cm^-2. The fruit ripens in early August in Shijiazhuang area,and the fruit development period is 137-142 d. The yield is 45 111.4 kg · hm^-2.
