Abstract: ‘Hailan Gemstone 1’is a new mid-late ripping netted muskmelon cultivar which was crossed by the female parent M-008 and male parent M-285. The cultivar possess the characteristics of medium growth vigor，medium height，tolerance to low temperature and weak light，resistance to powdery mildew，angular leaf spot and downy mildew. It bears fruit easily. The whole growth period is 115–120 d. The fruit developing period is 50–55 d. The fruit is round and slightly high with medium thick，fine reticulation，gray green peel，green flesh（The thickness is about 4.5 cm），and the soluble solids content in center is 16.0%–18.0%. The weight of single fruit is 1.8–2.2 kg. The fruit has good storage，transportation tolerance and the best flavor after ripening. It is suitable for protected cultivation in spring.
