Abstract: ‘June-Water Caltrop’is a new early-maturing water caltrop bred by artificial crossing between‘Jiayu Water Caltrop’（female parent）and‘Hanchuan Water Caltrop’（male parent），and then by pedigree breeding. The tender fruit color is pinkish-green. The fruit horn number is two. The upper horn tip shape is acute and the upper horn posture is horizontal. The fruit shape is near triangular. The single fruit weight is about 25.0 g and the ratio of flesh to whole fruit is 48.20%. The first harvest day of tender fruit is about July 10. It can be harvested continously to early-October. The yield is 15 983 kg • hm-2. Its mealy degree is intermediate. It has excellent characteristics such as early-maturing，high yield and good commodity value. It is suitable to plant in and around Hubei Province which has water caltrop cultivation.
