Abstract: The studies on the effect of low temperature on releasing bulb dormancy and promoting of flowering of lily were reviewed. During the passed decades, great advances were made in the annual production by cold storage to release the bulb dormancy, p romote the quality of the fresh flower and adjust the flower stage. However, more studies should be done on the mechanism of the bulb dormancy and flowering. In the mechanism of the lily bulb, the relationship among the four types of hormones and the studies on molecular level are the main directions of study in the future.
