Abstract: The new hickory cultivar‘Wanjin 1’was selected from the wild seedlings of Carya dabieshanensis in Dabieshan Mountain area. The nut weight is 3.20–4.12 g，the length of nut is 2.06–2.24 cm，the average width of nut is 1.96–2.08 cm，and the nut shape index is 1.04–1.06. The shell thickness of nut is 0.82–1.04 mm. Kernel percent is 44.35%–51.82%. The kernel total fat content is 63.04%–64.15% and the content of unsaturated fatty acids is 90.72%–92.46%，kernel total protein content is 5.98%–6.53%. The tannin content of seed coat is high，and the removing puckery time should be prolonged. The fruit production of eight to ten years old trees of‘Wanjin 1’is 1 360–1 840 kg ? hm-2. It has excellent quality such as early bearing，high yield，with extensive adaptability and strong resistance.
