Abstract: ‘Zhonggan 56’is a spring cabbage hybrid between dominant genic male sterile line DGMS726-3 and self-incompatible inbred line 0445-1-1-2，special for protected cultivation. It takes about 46 days from transplant to harvest when planted in the greenhouse in north China as the spring cabbage. The head is round in shape and green in color，with the weight of around 1.0 kg. The head is crisp and tender，with high quality. It is tolerant to the low temperature，low light，and premature bolting. It is suitable for protected cultivation in spring in Hebei，Shaanxi，Shandong，Henan，Jiangsu，etc.
