‘Hongyun’is a new scarlet sage cultivar，which is characterized by its erect and tight plant type，strong basal branching and short plant height. The average plant height is 17.3 cm，and the crown diameter is 21.7 cm in full-blossom period. The leaf is dark green and its vein has an obvious sink. The surface gloss of leaves and color appearance of petioles is strong. The cultivar has high ornamental value in terms of its tight inflorescence，long corolla and red flower color. It has an earlier anthesis about 94 days from sowing to flowering，and a long ornamental period. It is highly resistant to heat stress and suitable for cultivation in the region of Zhejiang Province or other areas with the similar climate conditions.
