Abstract: ‘Chawan 3’is a new excellent tea cultivar derived from Dongting Biluochun Tea（Camellia sinensis）group.‘Chawan 3’has many characteristics，such as early sprouting，fine quality，high yield and better resistance. It is much more suitable for manufacturing of‘Biluochun’，a very famous tea in China. ‘Chawan 3’belongs to shrub type cultivar with small lamina，semi-erect，short internode and more young shoot pubescene. For the tea product of‘Chawan 3’，it looks bright and shining，smells refreshing，and tastes fragrant. This cultivar is suitable to be cultivated in‘Biluochun’region of Jiangsu province.
