Abstract:

‘Hongxingyu’is a new seeded and small-sized watermelon cultivar which was developed from sexual hybridization. The whole growth period is about 94 days and the fruit maturing stage is 29–30 days. The mass of single melon is 2.2–2.4 kg. The fruit is oval and its skin is green with about 17 greenish black stripes on the surface. The center and side sugar contents are 11.85% and 9.10%，respectively.‘Hongxingyu’has the feature of little crude fiber，good quality，high sugar content，wet and draught tolerance.
