Abstract: ‘Purple Heart’is a new herbaceous peony cultivar selected from the seedling of Paeonia lactiflora introduced from Heze City. The flower is single form，and it has red purple petals and golden yellow stamens. The plant height is 70–80 cm，and the stems are stiff with dark purple-red color. It blooms in mid to late April，and it has a long flowering period（7–12 days for each flower）. This cultivar needs less chilling requirement，and it tolerates warm and humid climates. It is suitable for popularization and application in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River Basin.
