Abstract: ‘Chengjiang 17’is a new early maturing asparagus been cultivar developed by crossing early maturing line 31 as female parent with‘Chengjiang 3’as male parent after system selecting. The pod is light green，60 cm in length，0.69 cm in width and 21.54 g in weight，and it shape likes a long cylinder. Its fiber is few with good quality，and the pod is suitable for fresh food and processing. Its yield reaches 32 000 kg • hm-2，and its requirement for sunshine hours is not strict. It is resistante to root rot and virus. It is suitable for planting in spring and autumn in the asparagus beans growing region of Sichuan Province.
