Abstract: ‘Feihong’is a new pomegranate cultivar having high edible rate，pleasant flavor and high resistance to sunburn，which was selected from pomegranate seedling in Huaiyuan County，Anhui Province. The fruit is nearly round，with pink-red peel and smooth surface. Its average fruit weight is 434.31 g，the biggest fruit can amount to 632.00 g. The aril is pink-red，delicious with sweet and slightly sour. The average weight per 100 arils is 50.06 g，the weight per 100 kernel is 4.21 g，the edible rate of the fruit is 65.55%. The soluble solids content is 16.1%，the soluble sugar content is 12.3%，and the titratable acid content is 0.54%. The seed hardness is 45.5 N • cm-2. In Bengbu，the fruit ripens in late September. The tree is early fruiting and productive. The yield of five-year-old trees reaches 24 623.4 kg • hm-2.
