Abstract:

‘Huali 3’is a new Castanea henryi cultivar selected from the natural C. henryi seedlings. The nuts are oblong,reddish brown,oily and beautiful in appearance. The average nut weight is 8.41 g. Sugar content is 7.07%,starch content is 36.56%,protein content is 3.72%,fat content is 1.04%,vitamin C content is 313.5 mg · kg^-1,calcium content is 364 mg · kg^-1,iron content is 9.15 mg · kg^-1,and zinc content is 4.43 mg · kg^-1. It begins to bear fruit in the second year after grafting. The yield is up to 4 250 kg · hm^-2.
