Abstract: ‘Yutiancheng’，a new pepper hybrid with orange and heart shaped fruit，is bred by crossing a stable inbred line P2007-31 as the female parent and a small fruit sweet pepper inbred line P2007-10 as the male parent. The plant is 60–70 cm high and 50–60 wide with compact and semi-erect plant architecture. The length and diameter of mature fruit is about 6 cm and 3.5 cm，respectivley. The thickness of fruit is about 0.2–0.3 cm. The vitamin C content and sugar content of fruit is about 0.11 mg · g^-1 and 9%，respectivly. With no capsaicin contained，it can be used as a kind of sweet fruit. The growth period is about 120–135 days. The hybrid is tolerant to low temperature and weak light，with fast fruit-setting even under low temperature. It is suitable for protected cultivation in Henan（including tobacco areas），Shandong，Hebei，Anhui，Jiangsu，Zhejiang，Shanghai and Beijing in early spring and late autumn.
