Abstract:

A new hot pepper F₁ hybrid‘Ganjiao 16’was developed by inbred lines C004 as female parent and C001 as male parent. The fruit is horn shaped and pungent with dark green skin and bright red skin in maturity，21.0 cm in length，1.5 cm in width，0.2 cm in pulp thickness and 19.5 g in weight，and the fruit surface is smooth possessing good luster. The average yield is 37.5–45.0 t · hm^-2. It has early maturity，good commodity and resistance to phytophthora blight.‘Ganjiao 16’is suitable for spring early cultivation and autumn delayed culture in greenhouse in the Yangtze River Valley and other areas with similar climate.
