A High-resistantance and quality Wine Grape Cultivar ‘Beihong’

Abstract: ‘Beihong’is a late-ripening red wine cultivar derived from ‘Muscat Hamburg’ × ‘V. amurensis’. Berries mature during the end of September in Beijing. The fruit cluster is conical, weighing 160 g on average. The average mass of a single berry is 1.57 g. The berry is circular and blue black. The flesh is soft and red acid-sweet juice with 23.8%- 27.0 % soluble solid content, 0.89%- 1.26% titratable acid content and 62.9% juice extraction. The wine made from its berry is deep ruby, clear and translucent with aromas resembling a hint of blueberry and plum, rich and well balanced on the palate. It has high yield and resistance to cold and diseases.
